Capital Markets

Through a team of dedicated professionals, Stephens excels in helping clients access public and/or private capital. We maintain a strong focus on quality over quantity in areas where we possess significant industry knowledge.

Public Equity & Debt

Stephens' Capital Markets Group has a long history of helping clients access growth capital necessary to meet their financial goals and objectives.  Over the last five years, Stephens has participated in raising approximately $30 billion in the public equity and debt markets.  We offer value-added insight to the public markets on a macro and industry-specific basis. We believe our exclusive focus on small and mid-market institutional buyers, coupled with our growing private client group, brings an attractive mix of institutional and retail distribution.

Private Placement of Debt & Equity Securities

Providing client access to the private capital markets is a core focus for Stephens. Whether it be equity financing, subordinated mezzanine or senior debt, our team is well-positioned to provide unconflicted advice on sourcing and structuring capital raises of $15 million to several hundred million, for refinancings, M&A, and/or corporate growth. Our team offers extensive relevant experience advising family-owned private companies, later-stage emerging companies and established, profitable businesses seeking growth capital and/or shareholder liquidity.

Over the last five years, Stephens has acted as placement agent on 36 private debt or equity placements raising roughly $1 billion in capital. Specialists in structuring and negotiating private financings, we advise clients placing a range of security types, including:

  • Secured and Unsecured Senior Notes
  • Second Lien Notes
  • Mezzanine and Subordinated Debt Structures
  • Private Equity
  • We also have extensive experience in private placements, or "PIPE" financings, for publicly traded companies who have a need to raise capital in smaller amounts on a timely basis.
