Chris Triggs

Chris Triggs joined Stephens Insurance in April 2014 as a Senior Vice President working with a team of seasoned professionals providing a wide range of Risk Management and Insurance services to large public and private companies.

Triggs has over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of corporate risk management and insurance brokerage for firms involved in manufacturing, industrial services, distribution, trucking, marine and energy. This includes the leadership role in the design and implementation of various risk assessment and financing programs. These programs include utilization of traditional insurance markets, foreign and domestic, as well as alternative risk mechanisms such as self-­insurance and captive insurance companies.

In addition, Triggs has developed and managed claim administration systems, performed acquisition and divestiture due diligence, evaluated and implemented risk management information systems, developed and implemented contractual risk processes, managed large first party claims with recoveries in nine figures, managed mass tort claims (asbestos, silicone implants, construction defect and environmental liability), developed, placed and managed various insurance package programs (property and liability) for marine, energy and manufacturing risks, as well as, state and federal worker’s compensation programs. His experience also includes both the lead and supporting roles in identifying and developing action plans to address enterprise and operational risks.

Triggs received a BA from St. Bonaventure University and a MBA from Houston Baptist University. He has also attained the professional designations of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Senior Claim Law Associate.
