Stephens Investment Banking Hires Steve Egli as Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group

Stephens, an independent financial services firm, announced today the hiring of Steve Egli as Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group of its Investment Banking division.

Mr. Egli brings over 15 years of experience to Stephens and will oversee investment banking’s coverage of banks and thrifts in the western United States. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Finance and Accounting and received his MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

“The addition of Steve strengthens our senior level coverage of the Western States banks and growth initiatives in this key region,” said Brad Eichler, Executive Vice President, Head of Investment Banking. “Steve, working in conjunction with fellow Managing Director Jimmy Troy, allows us to leverage their considerable relationships to serve more clients and to align Stephens expertise where we see demand.”

When discussing the market and opportunities, Mr. Egli added: “The current environment for U.S. banks is changing rapidly in response to the economic impacts of COVD-19, government policy responses and rapid technological changes which are all impacting businesses and consumers demand for credit and other banking services. The technological shift in the financial services industry today represents an opportunity for well-positioned banks to significantly grow their businesses and Stephens is well-positioned to raise capital and provide strategic advice on how banks can fully capitalize on these and other opportunities.  Additionally, banks continue to use M&A to augment their organic growth opportunities and take advantage of economies of scale in a challenging rate and revenue environment.  There will be significant opportunities to assist banks in raising capital and pursuing strategic M&A in the years to come. Therefore, I am excited to begin working alongside my colleagues within the Financial Institutions Group and the larger investment banking team.”

Mr. Egli will be based in San Francisco.
